Monaro Enthusaist Profile - Dennis Stainer* see footnote
When it comes to Monaros many enthusiasts are just happy to own one, for Dennis Stainer, a long time fan of the Monaro, he has been fortunate to own at one stage or another, three of the most sought after and and best examples of the Holden Monaro GTS.
Dennis, a life member of the Monaro Club of South Australia Inc., has spent many hours of devotion faithfully restoring to exact showroom condition a HK 327 GTS and HG 350 GTS, both he has since sold. As Dennis states it is easy to modify a classic car but the hard part is restoring to standard showroom condition. Many hours were spent chasing elusive parts and trim components but the result, as you can see below, is well worth the effort. These pictures were scanned from magazine features that highlighted the cars faithfully restored by Dennis, and labelled the Silver Mink HK as the best example available of a HK Monaro GTS.

Dennis currently owns a HX Monaro GTS and in keeping to his high standards this vehicle is in total original condition and has not been restored or modified in any way, just maintained. The vehicle has travelled a mere 40,000 klm since Dennis purchased the car new and justifiably was awarded the best original HX Monaro at the recently held SAMC Show 'n Shine. Virtually a walking Monaro encyclopeadia, Dennis is a true Monaro historian and is only too happy to pass his experience and expertise on to any enthusiast seeking help, information or assistance in finding that hard to find part.

With enthusiasts like Dennis, the future of the Holden Monaro is in good hands and will ensure that the legend will never die!
*The Monaro world has since lost Dennis Stainer who has recently passed away. He was always prepared togive advice to any interested person or alternatively assist in finding that hard to precure part. He will be sadly missed by all Monaro enthusiasts, but rest assured he will be overseeing the reintroduction of the mighty Monaro from a much higher place.
Rest in Peace, Dennis Stainer, it was a pleasure to know you.
